Meet the founder

Dr. Kahla D. LaPlante, PhD, FITRF

Reverend Dr. Kahla D. LaPlante is a visionary leader, U.S. Army veteran, minister, author, and transformational guide committed to healing and empowerment. As a mother of two who has personally faced homelessness, job loss, and reintegration challenges post-military service, Dr. LaPlante’s mission is deeply personal. Her journey from struggle to strength shapes every initiative she leads.

She is a graduate of Ebed-Melech University, where she earned her Doctorate in Public Health with a concentration in Spiritual Wellness and Community Health. There, she also serves as a Chief Chaplain and Dean of the College of Spiritual Formation, working alongside the university’s president on advancement and mission-aligned innovation.

In every role she takes—whether in healthcare leadership, higher education, nonprofit development, or ministry—Dr. LaPlante brings unmatched compassion, strategy, and purpose. She is widely respected as a bridge-builder and change agent who transforms ideas into impact.

The P.E.A.C.E. Path: A Journey for All

Originally developed as Dr. LaPlante’s doctoral project, The P.E.A.C.E. Path is a groundbreaking initiative open to all individuals seeking healing, restoration, and direction. Rooted in five foundational values—Purpose, Empowerment, Advocacy, Community, and Elevation, this holistic program guides participants through personal growth, emotional clarity, and a spiritual wellness transformation.

Whether you are recovering from trauma, managing anxiety, transitioning careers, rebuilding after loss, or simply seeking purpose, The P.E.A.C.E. Path (TPP) offers the support, tools, and space to thrive. Through immersive retreats, mentorship, workshops, and spiritual teachings, individuals learn to reclaim their narrative and walk boldly into their next chapter.

This is not just a program, it’s a path to inner peace, renewed purpose, and spiritual wellness.

Blessed R Thee Ministry (BRTM): Honoring Women Veterans

In addition to The P.E.A.C.E. Path, Dr. LaPlante is the founder of Blessed R Thee Ministry (BRTM)—a nonprofit dedicated to supporting women veterans facing housing insecurity, food scarcity, and obstacles to reintegration.

BRTM provides direct resources, including safe nights of stay, meals, care packages, and children’s backpacks, to address urgent needs in Texas regions such as Houston and Dallas. With veteran homelessness among women on the rise, BRTM stands as a critical lifeline.

While The P.E.A.C.E. Path serves a broad community, participants are encouraged to learn more about BRTM and explore ways to support or collaborate with its mission. Together, both initiatives reflect Dr. LaPlante’s commitment to rebuilding lives through faith, advocacy, and strategic compassion.
